My love affair with travel started at 21 when I packed my bags and headed off. In the last few years I've had the opportunity to view the picturesque Rockies, marvel at the beautiful Taj Mahal and witness the sunrise over the incredible Angkor Wat. I've crossed off several destinations on an ever-growing list, but like all Intrepid staff, I'm determined to see as much as I can of this vast and incredible planet!

When I was a little girl growing up in Peru, the words 'travelling' and 'overseas' instigated a thousand and one discussions around the dinner table. I grew up with a thousand images of exotic places that I wanted to visit and experience.
When my family and I moved to Australia, travelling was still on my mind. In order to pull together my travel funds, I did all type of odd jobs - trust me cleaning raw prawns for a living is as glamorous as it sounds! Nevertheless, it was all worth it when I was able to book my first round the world trip. The best advice I received was from my well travelled aunty when she said, "Take the pictures with your heart, that way they will be with you forever."
After so many journeys I've learnt that travelling is more than a postcard, a stamp in your passport or a nice tan. It is about opening your mind to new ideas, customs and traditions and yes - they can stay with you forever.

My passion for travel was first ignited as a wee teen on my first trip to Bali with a friend. Since then I have been lucky enough to travel to over 20 countries on this strange and wonderful planet.
For me travel truly awakens the spirit and emotions. No one else can tell you what it feels like to walk through the trenches at Gallipoli, how cold the water is in Loch Ness, how awesome it is watching the sunrise over a beach party in Thailand, or how it feels to stand gazing up at the Mona Lisa, what Chai tea really tastes like in India, how crazy it is amongst a Spanish 'Fiesta', how it feels trying to catch your breath at Everest Base Camp whilst marvelling at the mighty Himalayas surrounding you, how it feels to see your first glimpse of the Taj mahal, or how delicious Guinness really is in Ireland.

Travelling ignited a spark in me when I started working in a hostel in Santiago de Chile, where I am from. Seeing travellers on a daily basis and hearing awesome stories about exotic and unique places inspired me to get out there and discover the world! My first travelling experience was to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I can still feel how much fun I had and how much it hit me to see a whole new and different world!
